New PEW research suggests that 77% of Americans agree with the Occupy tenet that there is too much power in the hands of a few rich people and corporations. In addition, rules and regulations put in place to contain the greed of Mega Corps end up hitting small business people the hardest. They don’t have teams of Harvard trained lawyers to avoid the regs and the taxes, so middle income businesses end up paying the Lion’s share. Mega corps pay little or no taxes, with the burden falling on small business people. Efforts to stifle the Consumer Protection Agency, which has as one of its dictates, to simplify regulations, is example of the power of lobbying by huge mega corps.
